Description

Over the coming years, Frimley Health will play a leading role in delivering the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan, supporting the shift from hospital to community-based care, from analogue to digital services, and from treating illness to prevention and population health. At the same time, we are preparing to deliver the redevelopment of Frimley Park Hospital through the New Hospital Programme, a once-in-a-generation investment that will transform care, infrastructure and the experience of our patients and staff. Alongside this, we are further developing our aspiration to become an Integrated Health Organisation, working with partners across our system to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and create sustainable services for the future.

At the heart of this is our key aim for further improving quality, safety and patient outcomes and we are now seeking an exceptional leader to join in a new role as Director of Clinical Governance and Risk.

Reporting directly to the Chief of Nursing and Midwifery and working in close partnership with the Chief Medical Officer, this influential role will provide strategic leadership for the Trust's quality governance, patient safety, risk management and assurance functions. The postholder will play a critical role in ensuring that our Board, patients, staff and regulators can have confidence in the systems, processes and culture that underpin safe, effective and compassionate care.

This is a rare opportunity to shape and strengthen the Trust's ward-to-board governance framework, lead our work with the new national Quality Strategy, ensuring a clear line of sight from frontline services through to Board-level oversight. Leading teams responsible for patient safety, risk management, clinical audit and effectiveness, , you will drive a culture where learning, transparency and continuous improvement are embedded throughout the organisation.

You will lead the implementation of the Trust's risk strategy, oversee delivery of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, strengthen organisational learning from incidents and reviews, provide key input to the relevant Board Committees and ensure robust assurance regarding quality, safety and linking in with our regulatory compliance structures. Working alongside executive and clinical leaders, you will use insight, evidence and intelligence to help improve outcomes for our patients and communities.

You will be a visible and collaborative leader with significant experience of quality governance, risk and assurance likely within a complex NHS environment. You will have a proven track record of leading large-scale improvement, presenting at Board level and translating national policy into meaningful local action.

Most importantly, you will share our commitment to putting patients first, supporting our staff and fostering a culture where everyone feels able to speak up, learn and improve.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to influence the quality and safety agenda across one of the largest and most ambitious NHS trusts in the region, we would be delighted to hear from you.
